Maintenance Guidelines

  1. Your walls should not require refinishing for many years however, they might require occasional cleaning to remove natural and chemical pollution carried in the air.
  2. Landscaping companies can damage your homes finish. We suggest zero maintenance landscaping that comes our at least 18 inches from your home.
  3. If you lean a ladder against your walls, make sure you protect them from scarring and damage by padding the ends of the ladder.
  4. To protect your fome from water intrusion around windows or other penetrations we recommend that you walk your home every six months and look for sealant adhesive failures. These areas need to be repaired as soon as possible.

Soil and Staining

  1. Synthetic Finishes that become soiled with dirt, mildew or algae can be cleaned with a solution of:
    • 1 gallon of water
    • 1 quart of household bleach
    • 1 cup Trisodium Phosphate (TSP) available in most paint departments
Apply the solution to the entire soiled area, wash lightly using a soft-bristle brush, then rinse thoroughly with clean water. (Hard scrubbing and hard-bristle brushes can damage the wall surface.
  2. You can also pressure wash your walls, however, do not exceed 900 - 1000 psi and do not point the wand at the finish when starting. Always point the wand away from the finish and slowly bring it to the finish.
  3. If the soiled area does not come off it might be necessary to re-coat your walls with an approved paint by an EIFS manufacturer
