Inspections

Specialty Building Consultants was created for homeowners, property managers, real estate agents, architects and general contractors as a source for the Inspection, Maintenance, and Repair of EIF Systems. Alabama State License & Liability Insurance on file. We are a full service inspection company certified by the Exterior Design Institute (EDI) & Moisture Warranty Corp. (MWC).

We will provide you with a thorough, Digital Photo Report explaining in detail all items discovered during your inspection, as well as, the architectural details needed to repair your home correctly. We use state of the art industry recommended forensic instruments to measure for moisture intrusion. These instruments minimize the need to cut into the wall of your home when testing for wood rot.

  • Kick out Flashings at chimneys and roof/wall intersections.
  • Proper installation of Sealants around all penetrations (windows, doors, hose bibs, electrical boxes, etc.), we use only Dow Corning Silicone Sealants during testing.
  • Raising the system above grade?
  • Is the system within industry standards? SBCCI, BOCA, EIMA, ICBO
  • Do you have damaged substrate (Wood Rot)?
  • Leaking windows. We have an innovative way to isolate a leaky window. Ask us how!

Inspection costs for one & two story residential and small commercial structures are very affordable. Especially when you consider the alternative and the costly damage that could already be present inside your wall cavity.
